6 week training, assistance with job placement


Sanitation - food borne illnesses, personal hygiene & grooming

OSHA regulations

How to handle and store food, proper time & temperature controls testing and shipping

Receiving food properly, food inspections

Kitchen safety, knife use and safety, disaster/risk management

Basic Kitchen Skills State Testing through Florida Safe Staff Food Handlers Certification


Household must be below median income level for Palm Beach County, household income certification through Community Action Program required


Must attend all 6 classes and provide 12 hrs per week internship with Secret Garden’s Incubator Program and CCC’s (a 501 c3 not-for-profit organization) programs for Chronic Meal, Senior Meals, Affordable Food, & Food Pantry Programs


YOU are provided all

Classroom materials, basic chef attire (aprons, hats, jackets, knife sets), testing and food handlers certification for employment, resume assistance and participation in a Culinary Job Fair, 

Monday, October 23rd , 2017 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Benvenuto Restaurant

 prior to the start of the 2017/18 Culinary Season

Registration for Class II  is open, applications can be made at the Secret Garden Cafe, 410 East Boynton Beach Blvd.

Class sizes are limited to 15, participation on a first come basis. 

Classes begin Monday, October 30, from 4 to 7 PM
