The classes are designed to help children learn how to grow food and what to do with it when it is harvested. It includes lessons in Composting, Pollination, and understanding of root
and stem systems, natural ways of maintaining healthy plants without the
use of chemicals. Once they have planted all their seedlings the focus shifts to the health benefits of fresh vegetables and fruit and how
to use it. Lessons include juicing, dehydration, canning and food preservation, raw foods and cooked foods.
Classes are held in the fall as soon as classes resume from summer break and end with the presentation of certificates of achievement the 2nd week in December. Then, again in February through May to complete Florida's growing cycle.

became butterflies to help pollinate; grew vegetables for the senior veggie mobile van; cooked garden grown vegetable soup;
sprouted beans in a jar; made fruit smoothies;
