The healthy cooking classes for adults are designed to help individuals to reduce their salt, sugar and fat in-take by using fresh fruits and vegetables and fresh herbs
Spa Wellness Day Luncheon - luncheons are offered to the community for $10 per person as incubator clients who offer particular expertisee in detox, skin health, nutrition, and relaxation. Individuals receive facials, chair massages, lessons in body detoxification, and are provided with a lunch featuring one of the entree's taught in our nutrition cooking classes. The setting provides an opportunity for various incubator clients to hone their skills and at the same time develop a local customer base.
Food Preservation Classes - Classes are taught by Secret Garden Cafe Chef's that are certified food managers and have completed courses in canning and drying methods from University of Florida's PBC extension office. Classes use canning and drying methods of preserving fruits and vegetables during growing seasons when prices are low. Students make jams, jellies, compotes, marmalades, lemon curds, pickled tomatoes, cucumbers, beets, peppers, relishes, sundried tomatoes and other fruit.
Chronic Disease Wellness and Maintenance Classes - CCC partners with the Caridad Health Center to provide classes throughout the year to clients managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. The program is 8-weeks and offers lessons on nutrition, exercises, relaxation, and motivation and commitment to a plan of action.
